"You are worthy of your dreams"
Dreams are where everything begins, and mine started several years ago. Drawing was a way for my mind to process things and these designs were a place that I could explore ideas that were sitting on the fringes of my waking hours. Often, I don't have any idea where the picture will end up when I am starting, I just have the need to draw, and the next thing I know there is a line on the paper and the image builds from there. A long time ago, my mom told me a story about a time when I was little. She said that I used to draw a line and then ask her to draw a picture from it. It feels like it's a puzzle that I set out to put together.
As time passed, I began to have more drawings than would fit into a neat little notebook (as in they were spilling out everywhere). My mom saw a couple and urged me to start thinking about how to show them to other people. I rolled it around in my head for a long time, but never moved forward with putting them into the public eye. Then one day, I had a fight with my daughter. It was something I truly regretted, and I didn't know how to make it better. I was working on a picture that night on an index card, which is how I started drawing these. The back being lined, I wrote her a note after finishing the drawing, and sent her an apology note. It made me feel good to send her something I had created, and she called me to tell me how much it meant, to have something that I had made just for her.
Not long after that, a friend of mine was leaving the company I worked for, and I ran out of time to get her a card. So, I chose a design that I had been working on the week I found out she was leaving, and gave it to her, with a note on the back. She loved it so much she framed it in her new office! My decision was made, making something that people could look at and find secret messages in was exciting to me. Now, I try to create something that fuels the imagination, something people can share with people who are special to them, and images that can create an atmosphere for conversation. I am excited to launch DreamWorth Designs, and can't wait to share what I have created with all of you!
